Customers Description
SBT357 is the BNZ Theatre, a premier 8,500m² performing arts facility in Hamilton integrating a modern auditorium with an 1865 heritage façade. KNX was deployed to unify all front-of-house, backstage, and heritage lighting into a single network. High-speed KNX/IP routing connects to the main IT infrastructure, while physical line couplers segment isolated lighting zones. High-level integration links the lighting control natively to the central BMS via an ABB BACnet interface. Crucially, the primary integration bridges architectural lighting with the theater's specialized stage production DMX infrastructure. By deploying decentralized KNX-to-DMX512 gateways, operators can trigger architectural lighting scenes directly from the main DMX show console. This establishes a true bidirectional, parallel control architecture, enabling the DMX console to drive KNX lighting circuits seamlessly alongside native KNX keypads during live performance environments..
