Detailed Description

Energy Efficiency

The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Innovation

Smart homes and buildings are always an upgrade in comparison to a conventional installation. Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

Customers Description

Our customer contacted us to ease the end of life of a family member affected by an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This disease is also known as motor neurone disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease and is a specific disease that causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles. As the patient was slowly losing her motor abilities, Casa Domotic was asked to design an scalable and flexible system. The system had to permanently adapt itself and yet continuing to communicate with more and more third-party equipment, in order to guarantee a maximum autonomy for the patient. At the origin, the environment only needed to be a traditional automated system with alert buttons in case of suffocation or other alarm. Then it had to evolve to control the whole house with ocular movement. By doing this, we helped (and are still continuing to help) the end of life of our customer's family member, enabling her to be as autonomous as possible.
