Energy Efficiency

The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Customers Description

Control of natural and forced ventilation of common areas, depending on inside and outside temperature and CO2 values measured in 6 different zones on 3 levels each. Temperature, CO2 and humidity are measured with wireless sensors LoraWan and sent to KNX-IP Multicast. Gira-Homeserver converts the received data into opening values of motorized ventilation grills and speed of extractor fans. Depending on weather and outside temperatur , fresh air is taken either from north or south side of the building. The whole process is visualized and values are recorded in graphs. The ventilation system is part of an overall building control which will be entirely done in KNX and will control DALI lighting and A/C in aulas.
