Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation
Innovation
Smart homes and buildings are always an upgrade in comparison to a conventional installation. Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

The biggest shopping mall in Australasia deserved to have implemented a system that is OPEN, robust, reliable, flexible, backward compatible, easy for modifications, alterations, additions, servicing and maintenance and at the same time to be energy efficient and user friendly.At the same time had to link 2 buildings (277 – bigger building & 309), completed by different integrators, into one control system visualised on GUI installed in building 277.The above requirements could be achieved by KNX only. The 277 implemented all that could be utilised for energy efficiency (constant lighting, daylight harvesting, presence & absence detection, lux level determined by occupants, zoning, time scheduling…). The GUI depicts grouping and zoning on all building levels giving freedom to operator to monitor, control or override devices. The GUI reports any malfunctions on the system either faulty device (lamp, KNX device…) or fault on the line (TP or IP) via e-mail to relevant receivers
