Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

90 Devonport Road stands as New Zealand's largest mass timber building, housing 1,000 Tauranga City Council staff over 8 levels. Driven by achieving a 6-Star Green Star design rating, a comprehensive KNX backbone handles advanced lighting integration across all floors. Factual integration is achieved by deploying a KNX/IP Router to interface directly with the centralized building IT network. Physical KNX line couplers securely isolate and distribute data across lines per floor. Common areas use presence detection, while office plates combine manual control with automated schedules. External lighting relies on a south-facing daylight sensor. High-level cross-protocol data exchange with mechanical services is established natively via a KNX/BACnet interface linked to the primary BMS. Furthermore, a second independent KNX/IP Router isolates and synchronizes high-level communication with the commercial Audio-Visual (AV) system.
