Funktioner


Följande punkter innehåller viktiga ETS4 funktioner i jämförelse ETS3. Dessa punkter är viktiga att följa för att ETS4 skall fungera full ut.

Starta ETS

ETS4 kan bara startas en gång, en andra session kan inte startas samtidigt. Detta är för att förhindra eventuella databas konflikter.

Två ETS3 sessioner är möjligt att starta på samma gång

ETS4 setup tillåter inte en installation av ett seriellt RS232 gränssnitt på 64-bitars operativsystem.

Data exchange

Im-/ export format

ETS4 tillåter endast export under nuvarande ETS4 format. Om ETS4 formatet i en senare version ändras (till exempel i ETS 4,1) är export till ETS 4,0 formatet är inte möjligt. Anledningen är densamma som den som beskrivs i ETS3. En import av äldre format i nyare versioner av ETS4 är alltid möjlig

ETS3 stöder även export till tidigare ETS3-format (t.ex. export av ETS3.0f till PR3), vilket leder till att nya ETS3.0f-funktioner inte stöds i äldre ETS3-versioner.


Im-/export format

Filtillägget av im-/export fil i ETS4 har inte något samband med versionen av ETS4, format informationen finns inbäddad i själva filen. Filnamnstillägget förblir alltid (*. knxprod, *. knxproj), även om man i framtida versioner av ETS4 lägger till nya funktioner (och därmed att det interna format versionen har ändrats).

Filtillägget av im-/export filer på ETS3 är knutna till specifika ETS3 versioner (t.ex. *. PR5 är en ETS3.0f projekt export).


Plug-in kompatibilitet

ETS4 stödjer import av ETS2 produkter och projekt, produkter med ETS2 plug-ins i allmänhet kommer inte att stödjas (som i ETS3)

Databas

Kopiera databas

En säkerhetskopia av databasen måste skapas först med ETS4 backup-funktion (fil med ändelsen *. bak), innan du kopierar den till exempelvis Utforskaren.

ETS3 data bas (*.db) kan kopieras direkt


Databas konsekvens kontroll

I ETS4 är inte denna funktion nödvändig längre, finns endast ett inbyggt gränssnitt för databasåtkomst här.

I ETS3 är denna funktion nödvändig, här är mer än ett gränssnitt för databasen tillgänglig. Detta kan leda till inkonsekvenser, med denna funktion är detta kontrollerat / reparerat.

Serverplats

ETS4 stöder in- och utcheckning av ETS4 databaser på en server. In- och utcheckningsprocessen definieras på databasnivå och därför överförs endast hela databaser. Princip:

  1. En existerande databas kan definieras som en serverdatabas med respektive ETS4-funktion. Efter den automatiska kopieringsöverföringen förvaras denna databas på en på förhand definierad serverplats.
  2. ETS4 tillåter (vad gäller servern) kontroll av databasen för redigeringssyften, även om en fullständig kopiering av databasfilen från servern till den lokala datorn görs.
  3. Projektet redigeras inuti denna databas på den lokala datorn.
  4. Efter redigering kontrolleras databasfilen med respektive ETS4-funktion, även om hela databasfilen överförs tillbaka från den lokala datorn till servern.

ETS3 har inte en funktion för underhålla databasen på servrar

Funktioner

Byte av tillämpning

I ETS4 är en ändring endast möjlig om minst en annan som den nuvarande tillämpningen finns tillgänglig att välja.

ETS3 tillåter även ändringar om endast en tillämpning finns (från nuvarande till samma tillämpning).


Nedladdning

Separat nedladdning av parametrar/adresser är inte längre möjlig. Anledningen till detta är att förhindra dataavvikelse i enheten. Felförhållande:

  1. Nedladdning av enhetparameter
  2. Ändring av enhetparameter (i ETS)
  3. Nedladdning av gruppadresser

->  Enhetparameter passar eventuellt inte gruppadresser

ETS3 tillåter nedladdning av parametrar/adresser separat.


Borttagning of tillämpningsprogram

ETS4 tillåter borttagning av tillämpningsprogram från enskilda enheter.

ETS3 tillåter borttagning av tillämpningsprogram från flera enheter/linjer.


Borttagning av enhetsadresser (IA)

ETS4 tillåter borttagning genom att endast trycka på enhetens programknapp. Detta förhindrar att du ansluter till enheten efter borttagning utan fysiskt tillträde till enheten (t.ex. efter golvmontering).

ETS3 tillåter borttagning utan att enhetens programknapp trycks ned.

      • (No) edit in locked areas corrected
      • Merge of several split projects into master project corrected
      • Check on name- uniqueness before project- split
    • ETS App Extended Copy:
      • Wrong creation of empty middle groups within copy target corrected

    The corresponding ETS4 help is not yet available in the particular new languages. The help is included here as an updated, English version. The translation of the ETS4 help into the new languages is planned for one of the next ETS4 updates.
    The additional ETS4 software languages are automatically available if you carry out the ETS4 online update or with a new ETS4 full installation.

    • Delayed sending of telegrams (when sending only one time)
    • Disappeared To Do items now handled correctly  in the sidebar (e.g. when for a To Do item  the “visibility” was changed in between)
    • Sidebar properties shown correctly when changing between several tabs within a panel
    • Number of chokes/ power supplies (integrated devices) on ETS project check now calculated correctly

  2. What has to be considered??
      
    Important for ETS4 BETA Testers:

    During development of ETS4 a lot of customers tested an ETS4 (either on workshops or also the ETS4 BETA, which were provided for testing on L+B 2010). Since then a lot of improvements and changes were done in ETS4.

    We kindly ask each customer before installation of the final ETS4 to de- install such possible older ETS4 versions and its components.

    The de- installation can be performed via the windows control panel (such as on Windows 7 & Vista; Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features). Please uninstall the following parts:

    a)     KNX ETS4

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    b)     KNX eteC Falcon Runtine 2.0

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    c)     KNX ETS4 Additional Runtime

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    d)     KNX ETS4 instance of "Microsoft SQL Server 2008"

    1. Select the SQL Server component "Microsoft SQL Server 2008" to uninstall, and then click Change/Remove. This will start the SQL Server Installation Wizard.
    2. Setup Support Rules will run to verify your computer configuration. To continue, click OK.
    3. On the Select Instance page, use the drop-down box to specify the instance “KNXETS4” of SQL Server to remove, or specify the option to remove only the SQL Server shared features and management tools. To continue, click Next.
    4. On the Select Features page, specify the features (select all) to remove from the specified instance of SQL Server. To continue click Next.
    5. Removal rules will run to verify that the operation can complete successfully.
    6. On the Ready to Uninstall page, review the list of components and features that will be uninstalled.
    7. The Setup Progress page will display Setup status.
    8. On the Completing Setup page, click Close to exit the Installation Wizard.
    9. Select the SQL Server component “SQL Server 2008 Nativ Client” again to uninstall and click Change/Remove.
    10. Delete the directory „C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.KNXETS4“.
