3E is proud to announce the official release of its external KNX communication modules. 3E, a leading manufacturer of power and energy meters, now offers a complete solution for KNX connection: the module, housed in a single DIN case, can be connected to the meter via optical port. On the PC side, the application software provides graphic information as far as data logging facilities: the 3E specific know-how is devoted to offer easy-to-use, but rigorous, data acquisition, storage and data management. The fully standard KNX module will also be integrated in the incoming series of professional power meters, thus completing the well-known 3E series of instruments, also available with MID certification.

ABB offers a new series of 16/20 AX C-Load switch actuators with and without current detection. The new switch actuators are available with 2, 4, 8 or 12 outputs. In addition to the well-proven function options of all ABB switch actuators, the application program for the new C-load types offer additional copy, exchange and conversion functions. The use of a 6 mm terminal and a universal head screw makes connecting cables with large diameters easy. An auxiliary voltage supply is not required for device function. The device is supplied by the KNX bus voltage. After connection of the loads, the installation can be manually tested directly - without bus voltage.

With the new blind/roller shutter actuators JRA/S from ABB, the requirements for a sustainable and energy efficient automatic sun protection control can be implemented in offices, residential and functional buildings. The new automatic travel detection, copy and exchange of parameter settings, overheat control and enhanced diagnostic messages assist the system integrator with realizing intelligent sun protection and temperature control in future-oriented and energy efficient buildings. The new actuators are also ideal for control of ventilation elements to reach a better room air quality via automatic ventilation.

The Multi I/O KNX 12 module provides a complete automation solution in one device. It is the ideal basis for vertical integration and upgrades with KNX, for which specific requirements for switching capacity and sensors are provided: with its twelve floating input contacts and twelve switching outputs, as well as extensive configuration possibilities, the software can realize a superior switching performance with this module. Preselection determines whether the channels are configured separately, in groups of six or together. Functions like scene, block and switch are possible over central objects.

The new eibPort combines the wireless EnOcean technology with KNX and is offering the gateway functions and its well known visualization at the same time. The EnOcean components are perfect for the refitting of KNX plants. With the new eibPort people are able to combine the Smart Metering KNX products with the energy saving EnOcean devices. In this way energy efficiency also takes place in the automation system itself.

The new KNX/DMX Gateway offers two independently controllable DMX outputs with 512 channels each. The device can be used as ceiling or DIN rail mounted device and is available in four different versions: as an extension for the eibPort, with a KNXnet/IP interface, with a KNX twisted pair connector or as a variant with an EnOcean radio interface. For the configuration and creation of scenes, professional DMX software is being used. The software offers a so-called “DMX Preview” which makes all settings immediately visible at the equipment. Transferring the configuration data happens by a network connection or with an SD-Card.

The mini-presence detector LUXOMAT® PD9-DIM-KNCX/EIB-FC is now available in version 4.0. This version contains a switching exit or two dimming exits in order to trigger actuators. Calibrating of the light value is easier thanks to a reflection coefficient and a correction value. In addition, the device offers two brightness-independent switching channels which send 1Bit telegrams in a delayed or undelayed manner in order to switch objects or show presence. These channels can now also be controlled by button. The false ceiling detector is one of the smallest motion detectors of B.E.G. with a size of only Ø 25mm (without ring) and thus, it is perfect for use in offices.

Thanks to this gateway, up to 64 DALI-ECG in a maximum of 16 groups can be triggered via KNX. The ECG-activation can be made with three processes: One possibility is a push button on the device, a second one the B.E.G. DALI-Programming tool. The third possibility is an integrated web browser which mainly supports DALI/KNX Gateway 2 IP. Thus, the assignment of the ECG can simply be done with a Smartphone via WLAN. The device can also trigger single ECG.

The NEW multi-function Luxomat® KNX Control Touch Screen Panel offers up to 110 KNX-functions. It has a 5.7 inch graphic capable color screen. It can be set up easily and quickly using the ETS software directly, without the need for plug-ins. It has 64 easy to configure screens, with logical linking of up to 60 objects. It is available with four different color frames and four different background-designs which can be set up individually for the compact, multifunctional and as a hypervisual display.

The new two channel and four channel KNX interface sensors from BEG are designed for installation into Ø 60 mm flush mount sockets. They have two or four inputs for floating button or switch contacts to trigger these KNX telegrams. The status indication can be shown by two LED’s. The BEG interface sensor is labeled through a simple handling and an excellent parameter overview, which allows a quick and accurate installation process.

The new generation of the Busch-triton® sensors now offer even more features. A bus coupler and an infrared receiver are directly integrated. The discharge capacity, protective effect and design of the BUStector from DEHN + SÖHNE, specialist in lightning and surge protection, is adapted to the installation environment of the KNX (EIB) bus. IO88E01KNX is a DIN RAIL 8 binary Input and 8 binary 16a relay output module. Useful to interface commands, loads for any kind of applications. The Current limiter module 640mA serves to limit the current for the power supply of EIB KNX lines (building automation) using KNX compliant power packs that can provide more than 640mA. This current has to be limited to 640mA to meet the EIB KNX standards. To achieve this special features an electronic fuse has been integrated that limits the line current to 640mA. In addition an LED shows the current supply status.

From October 2011 EIBMARKT presents a new switch actuator 12fold (N000202), where six channels provide the usual capacity of 16A in manual operation of the current 8-fold actuator and where there are an additional six channels for 8A without manual operation. This permits the installation of the MDRC casing in only six width units. That means in a standard current distribution board, 24 channels can be integrated on one DIN rail. Besides its known high stability and high quality casing and a sophisticated electronic system, the actuator offers comprehensive parameters for a diversity of applications.

From October 2011 EIBMARKT presents a new shutter/blind actuator 6-fold (N000303) with manual operation. In addition to the high stability and high quality casing and the sophisticated electronic system known from the 4/8-fold blind actuator with additional cut-off relay for parallel operation, this actuator disposes of comprehensive parameters for a diversity of applications and, of course, the 1-byte object for runtime and slat.

EGi launches the 40580 KNX Interface to communicate its Domos2 Multiroom Audio System with any home or building automation system based on KNX. Communication objects belong to 3 groups: audio and intercom, entry phone and relays. Both stack and application have been fully developed by the EGi R&D Department. Thanks to this new interface Domos2 can easily be integrated into an existing KNX-based system. Audio functions such as volume control, source selection or micro activation can be managed at the touch of a button. Integration of audio into home automation has never been so easy.

KNX TH-B-UP is a thermometer/hygrometer monitoring heating, cooling and ventilation at the same time. The sensor is integrated into the switch program of the building. Therefore, the unit can be obtained in white, anthracite, aluminum and stainless steel colors. The temperature required for the room can be set directly on the unit using two buttons. High convenience is ensured, as the users can regulate the climate themselves. Current values are shown on the screen, and at request even the data received via the bus can be displayed (e.g. time). These basic requirements, as well as switch outputs, logic links and PI regulators, are set through the KNX software ETS.

On each of the four KNX S4-B10 outputs either one drive (up/down) or two switchable devices (ON/OFF) can be connected. The actuator can control blinds, but also, for instance, the light. With the integrated automatic shading mechanism, facade control is possible for each drive, including sun position and slat tracking. Locking, priority settings and scene memory top off the settings options. The operating time of the drives is determined via power metering and their position is recorded. KNX S4-B10 offers ten binary inputs for actuator and bus push buttons.

The KNX A2-B2 door control module integrates door drives into the KNX bus system. The module has two outputs, either for two doors with single-surface noperation or for one door with doublesurface operation. The operating mode is defined in the ETS software (impulse, dead-man-control or defined open/ close). The doors and also other bus participants can be controlled via the integrated binary inputs. The inputs are suitable for switches, closed contacts, dimmers, for control of shading systems and windows, for scene control and for transmission of temperature, brightness or eight bit values. The response time for standard, convenience or dead-man mode of manual push buttons can be set individually.

The indoor sensor KNX AQS/TH-B-UP handles ventilation and separate room temperature control at the same time. The unit records the CO2 content, temperature and absolute/relative humidity. In addition, it calculates the dew point and monitors the comfort range (DIN 1946). Depending on the CO2 concentration and humidity measurements, the integrated ventilation controller issues a command to the bus to provide fresh/exhaust air. A temperature controller is designed for heating and cooling. Different target values may be set in the ETS for the day, night and „frost/heat protection“. Furthermore, the temperature required for the room can be set directly on the unit using two buttons.

The first KNX product for «green energy» market: Universal differential temperature controller for thermo solar, heating and air conditioning systems. It uses the benefits of KNX as a distributed system using external temperature sensors, which can be placed anywhere in the installation. The KNX certified cable from FS Cables is now available in a steel wire armoured (SWA) version. Using the standard green 2 x 2 x 0.8mm KNX cable as a base, the cable features a tough, PE inner sheath and 0.9mm solid galvanised steel wires cased in a heavy waterproof PE jacket. The armoured KNX cable from FS Cables is ideal for installations where physical damage, vandalism or rodent attack could cause the KNX system to fail. It is also suitable for direct burial in the ground.

To cope with the increasing range of demanding external installations, FS Cables now offer a duct grade twisted pair KNX certified cable with a tough, black, UV resistant polyethylene (PE) waterproof jacket over the standard LSHF inner sheath. The durable PE jacket not only protects the cable from moisture but also adds to the physical strength of the cable, important when the cable is pulled through ducts often over hundreds of meters. The cable can be installed in exposed external positions where the jacket gives both mechanical and environmental protection as PE offers very good sunlight resistance. Common applications are clipping to masts, running up the sides of buildings, or across roofs.

The cable is the same in construction as the standard green 2 x 2 x 0.8 mm but has a white LSHF sheath with yellow printing. As with the standard green cable, the FS Cables white KNX cable has been certified for use on a KNX system. The LSHF sheath material makes it ideal for installations where the evacuation could be slowed in the eventof fire, as it emits minimal amounts of toxic fumes when burnt.

The tableau KNX-TAB 8 is now available with a key switch. This can be programmed with ETS (2, 3 or 4). If selected, the objects for the switches and LEDs are hidden. The key switch can send one group address to two independent objects. A cyclic transmission at ON, OFF or ON and OFF every second to every 24 hours is also adjustable. The device is directly connected to the KNX system. The key switch is available as \\\"in one or both positions removable\\\" version. From this version on a seal is mounted between the front plate, buttons and key switch to increase protection.

Since January 2011, the 16/32 LED button panels are supplied with completely new hardware. Equipped with an additional microprocessor, now two-color LEDs can be controlled. The voltage range of the auxiliary voltage has been increased from 12V DC to 30V DC. This ensures a constant brightness of the LEDs. The power consumption of the auxiliary voltage is 40 mA at 30V and is much brighter than the previous versions. The build in depth is reduced, for an easier KNX-connection. The improved KNX connection contributes to this, which is installed directly to the right of the auxiliary voltage terminal on all new GePro panels.

Since May 2011, the display and alarm panel KNX-TAB is 12 / 2 LED has been available. The hardware has been redesigned and now comes with improved electrical and mechanical properties. The LED-caps are closed on the front panel and implement with an additional seal. New is the switchable integrated buzzer. The two-color LED (red / green) lights up brighter during lower power consumption (approx. 27 mA at 29 V). Connection to the unthrottled output of a KNX power supply is possible. As the auxiliary voltage can be nine to 36 V, DC is used, which allows operation in combination with KNX alarm systems. The operation is also possible without auxiliary voltage.

The hardware of the key switch has been completely renewed and now offers improved electrical and mechanical properties. The LED on the front cover is closed and provided with a seal. The key switch is available in a variety of mechanical designs, including a special version IP67. The two-color LED (red / green) lights up brighter than the old version. Using the ETS program red, green, off, flashing, time limit and permanent ON are parameterized. The buzzer is controlled with a separate object. The volume cannot be changed by jumpers anymore (as previously).

GEWISS launches the news Chorus Touch KNX pushbutton switches with 3/6 channels for lights, dimmers, shutters and scenes via KNX. Combined with Chorus FLAT 3-module plates, entirely manufactured in glass, the new GEWISS push-buttons are available in black or white. Each channel has a touch command identified by a universal symbol and a LED which can be configured by colour (blue/amber) and intensity. It is possible to have an acoustic feedback on command; moreover, a temperature sensor sends measured values via KNX BUS. Available in S-Mode and E-Mode versions, the push-buttons are powered directly by the BUS, connected to a standard TP black/red terminal and installed in 3-module flush-mounting boxes.

The CO2 sensor measures the carbon dioxide concentration in the air. The values of the various sensors can be connected via logic gates. Values can be processed further as desired, for example, via the Gira HomeServer three or Gira FacilityServer. Through the temperature controller with a specified setpoint, the Gira KNX CO2 sensor can also be used for the temperature control of rooms. The Gira KNX CO2 sensor determines at which temperature the water contained in the air begins to condense on ceilings or walls. If the dewpoint is approached, the Gira KNX CO2 sensor can control heating or ventilation and send out a message via the KNX system.

DMX Recorder design for controlling DMX equipments like LED lights, moving head, dimmer. The external DMX show can be recorded in the DMX recorder by DMX input line or Art-net DMX stream. The show stored in the module can also be played back by using any kind of KNX panel. The series of HDL control panel include two types: two buttons and four buttons; each button can be locked-in, unlocked and bus triggered. The button assembles the control function of switch, dimming, shutter, flexible, scene, percentage, combination,and string. Scene dimming and combination controller is relative new. In addition, the brightness of the backlight is adjustable (0 % ...100 %), and it can be changed through the KNX bus. In the night mode, the brightness can be adjusted to the minimum level automatically, for energy savings and environmental protection. The HDL KNX sensor -M/HS05.1 includes four independent logic blocks and one combined logic block. Each logic block is combined with the condition of motion sense, brightness, temperature, external condition and two dry contacts. In real applications, choose requested functions to combine the logic for AND or OR. According to the controlled targets, switch, absolute dimming, shutter, alarm, percentage, sequence, scene, string(14 bytes) can be used as the control function. Open-delay and close-delay are both available for each of the functions. Meanwhile, the sensor can be configured as the master and slave mode; it can report the current status of every condition.

The controller has comfort-, night-and frost protection operation. The new MDT actuator can switch eight loads. All outputs have status lights and can be switched manually by push buttons. For easy programming ETS3/4 is used. The actors come with wide applications. The actual load power and the sum of all channels can be sent as ampere or kWh to the bus, and a threshold limit or load error and an overload can be used. All channels have an operating hour meter implemented, which can be used for an end of life or service warning. The MDT actors are used for 16A with high C-load 100uF (AMS) or 200uF (AMI). Both actors are also available as 4-channel version.

MDT now offers a 2TE Line coupler to connect two KNX lines to each other with galvanic isolation. The unit can be used as a line coupler, area coupler or repeater. By using it as line or area coupler, you can choose which telegrams are transferred or blocked. This function reduces the busload. The unit will be available in Q4/2011.

This new sensor combines the measurement of carbon dioxide, temperature and relative humidity. As CO2 levels which are too high are a reliable indication of poor ambient air, these levels can be used to effectively monitor the air quality - e.g. in offices/conference rooms, schools/kindergartens, restaurants and in passive or low-energy houses. Buildings and people can be protected just as reliably against the effects of humidity levels which are too low or too high. Three separate limit values are available for CO2 and humidity and a limit value is also available for temperature. The CO2 thresholds can be set within a range of 500 - 2500 ppm.

This new flush-mounted actuator enables space-saving retrofitting in two neighboring size 60 switch boxes (potential separation), e.g. for saving energy in different types of buildings. Floating window contacts or push-buttons can be connected with the active SELV inputs; basic functions can already be operated already without ETS due to factory programming. The actuator is part of a new family of six 1-gang actuators with integrated inputs. Loads are connected via prefabricated 20 cm long cores, the inputs and the KNX are connected via a six-core cable with shared sheath. Theinput cables may be max. 5 m long.

The new products of the gamma instabus building management systems range allow room functions such as lighting, sun protection and room climate to be conveniently and reliably controlled by means of infrared (IR). IR control is particularly suitable for environments in which radio solutions are not permitted for legal or technical reasons, for example hospitals. The system is based upon a significantly more reliable industrial transmission technology than standard infrared technologies. The IR system thus also represents an optimal alternative to radio remote control systems in office buildings because it ensures fault-free operation in rooms with a high level of radio traffic.

The new N 502/02 combination switch actuator makes it possible to detect and transmit switching states as well as to switch devices and lighting. The compact device can be used autonomously or networked via KNX. The space requirement of just 8 MW is minimal. The scope of functions has been increased once again compared to predecessor models. The inputs and outputs in a KNX installation are user-assignable using the Engineering Tool Software (ETS) and can perform functions independently of one another. For sun protection control in residential and non-residential buildings, Siemens offers the N 501 combination shutter/blind actuator in addition to the N 502/02 combination switch actuator.

With the new presence and motion detectors it is possible to control lighting systems in office and commercial buildings according to demand – optionally also with constant light level control. The passive infrared detectors with swiveling sensor head under the designer cap are suitable for ceiling mounting, either flush or in a surface-mounting enclosure. Both versions have an integrated infrared receiver for remote control using infrared (IR). Calibration is performed with ETS or optionally by IR remote control. The sensing range of the detectors is 360° horizontally and approx. 100° vertically.

TPUART2 is the next generation of the widespread TPUART transceiver. It is digitally compatible with its predecessor so that communication stacks and drivers can be used without modification. It offers enhanced features including efficient stabilized 3.3V and 5V power supply with 30mA maximum current (50mA when 20V not used), switchable 20V power supply with limiting function and a smaller QFN36X36 package. This module completes the extensive range of Siemens KNX components (consisting of transceivers, processors as well as the M13x series bus interface modules) available for KNX manufacturers.

The control of sun protection is really easy to integrate in a KNX Bus system with the new animeo KNX Master Control by Somfy. The animeo KNX Operating Software makes this possible and with its intuitive operating and a visual interface, starting up and controlling the façades has never been easier. The settings in the ETS software are much easier too. The Theben KNX OT box connects the OT BUS commonly available with gas terms to the KNX BUS. The interface can be used as the master for the OpenTherm heater in combination with a KNX individual room control. Fully-automatic solar protection control is achieved using the Meteodata 140 GPS KNX weather station. The flow sensor detects both crosswinds and upwinds. The ThebenHTS PlanoCentro KNX presence detector is designed to fit almost flush into suspended or prepared concrete ceilings. With a detection span of 16 m, the 180° detection area is up to 100 m². The KNX PresenceLight 180 fully meets the requirements for targeted, energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning. The new Thermokon Thanos is another top product in the portfolio of room operating units. Thanos is especially convincing by its exceptional design. Under an overall glass front, a high-resolution 3.5”-TFT display is placed. The control of HVAC elements such as temperature set point adjustment, blind and light control or fan stages can be easily realized by a simple touch. The new operating unit KNX Thanos is available in the versions S / LQ / L in the basic colours black and white. The KNX Thanos can be optionally equipped with a bi-directionally EnOcean transceiver module.

This software solution provides flexible and easily configurable integration for Control4 and KNX. By using native proxy elements for visualisation, unified user expierence is possible over both systems. Small home controllers can handle up to medium size KNX installations. Bidirectional integration is supported via FT1.2 and KNXnet/IP. Proxies are available for generic actuators, sensors, inputs, outputs, DALI gateways, HVAC (configurable control methods) and custom scenes. Next product release is planned for Q2 2011 enabling object server support customizable alarm representation, time- and logic-functions.

The new nine channel motor control of Vestamatic moves comfortably and nine 230VAC motors with two end switches accurately. The motor control encompasses among others the following automatic runtime detection, 9/18 binary inputs for standard/ KNX switches, test button for implementation. The switch actuators are the modular installation devices, with 4, 8 and 12 outputs for selection, using KNX BUS connection terminals to connect to the system. It is able to switch independent electrical AC loads or three-phase loads by the switch actuators with maximum output of 16A per output and manual switch, as well as visible switching status. The same following programming functions for each output: time function, scene and preset control, logic operation, status response, forced operation and safe function, threshold function, control of solenoid valve function.

Equipped with a bright 4” touch screen, this remote control integrates a powerful micro-processor as well as useful multimedia specifications like a webcam, a microphone and speakers. It is also equipped with a direct KNX port allowing full electrical interface control using this protocol. It is able to communicate directly with all VITY Controllers via IP, allowing management of audiovisual and multimedia products and connection to all products working over IP. The VIMATY 70ZR is a wireless ZigBee 2-ways radio touch panel. It is capable of controlling KNX devices by communicating wirelessly with the ZigBee to KNX gateway ZigAccess-KI. This interface allows the ZigBee link between the wireless touch screen and KNX devices. It can also be used as a repeater in the ZigBee wireless network to increase the range of wireless communication. VIMATY 70ZR can also directly control infrared devices to function as a universal remote control and command audio-visual devices. The KNX IP BAOS 772 is an extension of the classic BAOS 77x series with even more data points. As a KNX IP interface with object server it can be used to access the KNX bus both on a telegram level and on a data point level. Clients can access group objects via TCP/IP or UDP/IP. To use the BAOS 772 directly in a web browser Java Script Object Notation (JSON) is supported. The device can be configured via ETS, offers 1000 group objects and supports up to 10 simultaneous clients.

The KNX Tiny Serial Interface 810 offers a simple connection to the KNX Bus Twisted Pair including galvanic isolation. The connection is via UART (3 - 5V). A variant with USB is available as well. The communication is based on a modified TP-UART protocol without real-time requirements to the host. The Tiny Serial Interface is ideally suited for connecting KNX devices running Linux, Windows CE and Android, among others. A cross platform SDK is also available to integrate Tiny Serial into your application.

KNX-RF (radio frequency) is the wireless communication within the KNX Standard. The KNX RF/TP Coupler 670 connects KNX wireless components with the KNX bus (twisted pair). The coupler is bidirectional and has 24 channels. The bus-side is configured with the ETS as an end device with communication objects; the RF devices are linked locally using Easy Push Button Mode. An LCD display shows the current configuration of the channels. The device is powered by the bus.

Zennio keeps on developing KNX climate control solutions, like the new Fan Coil Controller family. It consists of two new application programs, available for ACTinBOX MAX6 and Quatro, allowing a wider range of climate systems to be controlled by Zennio devices: Splits, Ducted Air Conditioning, VRV, Valve Based Systems (e.g. floor heating) and Fan Coils. These Fan Coil controllers provide an elegant solution for any kind of scenario. 2-pipe and 4-pipe Fan Coils, with up to 3 fan speeds can be controlled. KLIC-DI is a bidirectional communication interface, designed for integrating both Daikin commercial and Daikin industrial air conditioning units with KNX. KLIC-DI allows the configuration of key parameters such as On/Off, Temperature set-point, Mode and Fan control by a KNX system, even providing Daikin error identification and communication error identification. All of this functionality is provided by an intuitive application program. In addition, KLIC-DI can be set as the master remote controller or can be installed as a slave, and master of mode. This last option grants to the KNX installation the ability to control the mode. It can be wired up to 500 meters from the Daikin unit.

MAXinBOX16 is a 16 output multifunction actuator in a high quality eight DIN rail unit enclosure that can address the most demanding of projects. MAXin- BOX16 outputs, each 16A type A can support capacitive loads up to 140 uF, and may be configured individually (up to 16) or as shutters/blinds channels (up to eight). LUMENTO is a low voltage (12 – 24 V DC) LED dimming controller by Zennio which comes in two variations, the X3 and the X4, for the control of three channels (RBG) or four channels (RGBW) respectively.
