Eigenschappen


De volgende opsomming bevatten belangrijke ETS4 eigenschappen in vergelijking met ETS3. Deze punten zijn expliciete ETS4 vereisten of handelen over implementatie. Deze gaan dus niet over storingen in ETS4.

ETS starten

ETS kan slechts één keer opgestart worden; er kan geen 2e sessie gestart worden. Zo worden onregelmatigheden in de databank vermeden.

Twee ETS3 sessies kunnen tegelijkertijd gestart worden.

ETS4 setup laat geen installatie van seriële RS232 drivers toe op 64 bit besturingssystemen.

Uitwisseling van gegevens

Im-/ export formaat

ETS4 exporteert enkel in het huidige overeenkomstige ETS4 formaat. Indien in een latere ETS4 versie (bijvoorbeeld ETS4.1) het formaat wordt veranderd, zal een export naar ETS4.0 formaat niet meer mogelijk zijn. De reden hiervoor is dezelfde als omschreven in ETS3. Import van oudere formaten in nieuwere ETS4 versies is steeds mogelijk.

ETS3 ondersteunt ook export in vroegere ETS3 formaten (zoals ETS3.0f export naar pr3), met als gevolg dat nieuwe ETS3.0f eigenschappen niet ondersteund worden in oudere ETS3 versies.


Im-/export formaat

De extenties van de im-/exportbestanden in ETS4 verwijzen niet naar de versie van ETS4, de informatie over het formaat is in het bestand zelf inbegrepen. De extentie van een bestand blijft steeds hetzelfde (*.knxprod; *.knxproj), zelfs indien er in toekomstige ETS4 versies nieuwe functies zijn (en het interne formaat dus anders is).

De extentie van im-/exportbestanden zijn gerelateerd aan specifieke ETS3 versies (zoals *.pr5 is een ETS3.0f project export). 


Plug-in compatibiliteit

ETS4 ondersteunt ETS2 producten en projecten, producten met ETS2 plug-ins zullen over het algemeen niet ondersteund worden (zoals in ETS3).

Databank

Kopie van de databank

In ETS4 moet er eerst een backupbestand van de databank aangemaakt worden met de ETS4 backup functie (met als extentie van het bestand *.bak) vooraleer u het kan kopiëren met windows explorer.

ETS3 databanken (*.db) kunnen rechtstreeks gekopieerd worden.


Consistentiecontrole van de databank

In ETS4 is deze functie overbodig, omdat er slechts één interne interface bestaat voor toegang tot de databank. Een quasi gelijktijdige toegang is daarom helemaal niet mogelijk.

In ETS3 is deze functie noodzakelijk; hier zijn er meerdere interfaces voor toegang tot de databank beschikbaar. Dit kan leiden tot inconsistenties, met deze functie wordt dit gecontroleerd/gerepareerd.

Opslaan op server

ETS4 ondersteunt de check in/-out van ETS4 databanken op een server. Dit check in/-out proces wordt gedefinieerd op het niveazu van de databank. Daarom worden enkel volledige databanken getransfereerd. Principe:

  1. Via de overeenkomstige ETS4 functie kan een bestaande databank als een serverdatabank gedefinieerd worden. Deze databank wordt opgeslagen -na de automatische kopieertransactie- op een voordien gekozen serverlocatie.
  2. Met ETS4 kan de databank "checked out" worden voor aanpassingen te maken, er wordt dan een kopie van de gehele databank lokaal opgesplagen.
  3. Het project wordt aangepast in deze lokaal opgeslagen databank.
  4. Na het editeren van de databank, zal het bestand "cehcked in" worden via de in ETS4 overeenkomstige functie. De gehele databank wordt dan weer getransfereerd van de computer naar de server.

ETS3 heeft geen expliciete functie voor onderhoud van databanken op servers.

Functies

Verandering van applicatie

In ETS4 zijn aanpassingen enkel mogelijk indien tenminste één andere als de huidige applicatie beschikbaar voor selectie is.

ETS3 laat aanpassingen toe indien er slechts één apllicatie bestaat (van de huidige naar dezelfde applicatie).


Download

Afzonderlijke download van parameters/adressen zijn niet meer mogelijk. Dit om verschillen tussen gegevens in het product te vermijden. Voorbeeld van fout:

  1. download parameter van busdeelnemer
  2. verander parameter van busdeelnemer (in ETS)
  3. download groepadressen

->  Parameters passen mogelijk niet meer in groepadressen

ETS3 laat het afzonderlijk downloaden van parameters/ adressen toe.


Ontladen van applicatieprogramma's

ETS4 laat ontladen van applicatieprogramma's van enkelvoudige busdeelnemers toe.

ETS3 laat ontladen van applicatieprogramma's toe van meerdere busdeelnmers/lijnen.


Ontladen van productadressen (IA)

ETS4 laat ontladen enkel toe door op de programmatieknop van de busdeelnemer te drukken. Dit vermijdt dat zonder fysieke toegang tot het product u geen verbinding hebt tot het product na het ontladen (zoals na montage onder de vloer).

ETS3 laat ontladen toe zonder op de programmatieknop op de busdeelnemer te drukken.

    The corresponding ETS4 help is not yet available in the particular new languages. The help is included here as an updated, English version. The translation of the ETS4 help into the new languages is planned for one of the next ETS4 updates.
    The additional ETS4 software languages are automatically available if you carry out the ETS4 online update or with a new ETS4 full installation.

    • Disappeared To Do items now handled correctly  in the sidebar (e.g. when for a To Do item  the “visibility” was changed in between)
    • Sidebar properties shown correctly when changing between several tabs within a panel
    • Number of chokes/ power supplies (integrated devices) on ETS project check now calculated correctly

  2. What has to be considered??
      
    Important for ETS4 BETA Testers:

    During development of ETS4 a lot of customers tested an ETS4 (either on workshops or also the ETS4 BETA, which were provided for testing on L+B 2010). Since then a lot of improvements and changes were done in ETS4.

    We kindly ask each customer before installation of the final ETS4 to de- install such possible older ETS4 versions and its components.

    The de- installation can be performed via the windows control panel (such as on Windows 7 & Vista; Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features). Please uninstall the following parts:

    a)     KNX ETS4

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    b)     KNX eteC Falcon Runtine 2.0

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    c)     KNX ETS4 Additional Runtime

            Choose the component and uninstall it.

    d)     KNX ETS4 instance of "Microsoft SQL Server 2008"

    1. Select the SQL Server component "Microsoft SQL Server 2008" to uninstall, and then click Change/Remove. This will start the SQL Server Installation Wizard.
    2. Setup Support Rules will run to verify your computer configuration. To continue, click OK.
    3. On the Select Instance page, use the drop-down box to specify the instance “KNXETS4” of SQL Server to remove, or specify the option to remove only the SQL Server shared features and management tools. To continue, click Next.
    4. On the Select Features page, specify the features (select all) to remove from the specified instance of SQL Server. To continue click Next.
    5. Removal rules will run to verify that the operation can complete successfully.
    6. On the Ready to Uninstall page, review the list of components and features that will be uninstalled.
    7. The Setup Progress page will display Setup status.
    8. On the Completing Setup page, click Close to exit the Installation Wizard.
    9. Select the SQL Server component “SQL Server 2008 Nativ Client” again to uninstall and click Change/Remove.
    10. Delete the directory „C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.KNXETS4“.
