General Conditions

• The price info given on this page is for information only.
• KNX Association reserves the right to modify prices without prior warning.
• In case of differences, the price mentioned in the KNX Pro Forma invoice always applies.
• Please contact sales(at)knx.org for the most up-to-date prices.
• In addition to the prices below the following fees have to be paid per invoice:
  
  • Service fee = 15 €
    Via Registration you gain free access to first level of "product handling or licensing support" by KNX Association for all the licenses on the invoice. You may submit your questions concerning ETS in German, English, Dutch and French via the KNX Web Support.
  • VAT = 21%
    If you do not have a valid European VAT number, 21% VAT must be charged according to the Belgian VAT law.
  • Outside Europe express sending: dongles sent outside Europe have to be shipped express. Therefore an additional fee of 35 Euro will be charged (except for orders exceeding 5 dongles).

All ETS 3 licenses exist in two packages : either as PC Dependent (with Host-ID) or as PC Independent (with a dongle). If you do not know the difference or if you need more info about the different packages please click the following link.

Educational licenses

• Educational licenses are intended for usage by schools for the training of students!!
• Usage of these licenses for projects or commercial use is not permitted!
• Special conditions are given to schools. For info please contact the Sales Department at sales(at)knx.org
• KNX Certified Training Centres can get other rebates.  Please contact Ufuk Unal !

Bulk licenses

Bulk licenses (=volume or mass) from 5 ETS3 Professional Full Licenses onwards, or equivalent amount in 1 single order please contact our Sales Department at  sales(at)knx.org.

To order ETS 3 : you have two possibilities:

1. Installation from CD-ROM
   
   You can request your free ETS 3 CD-ROM simply by clicking this link. After reception of your CD you simply have to install ETS 3.
   
   
2. Download the full version from our web site

After installation either from CD or web, you simply have to follow a procedure to request your key. In the case of an independant package (Dongle) do not forget to indicate it in your request. You can find  the procedure described here

ETS 3 PC Dependent (Host-ID)

1. Background:
   
   Each PC has a specific identifier (or code). After installing ETS 3, and during the license request process, that identifier will be used to create what is called the HOST-ID of your PC. This Host-ID is sent to us automatically with your license request and is used to make your ETS License which is sent to you as a file.
   
   
2. Result:
   
   The license file you will receive from us to unlock your ETS will only be valid for that specific PC because it will check that the code corresponds to the Host-ID. Therefore, if you would try to use that license key on another PC, you would not be able to unlock your ETS.
   
   
3. Advantages and disadvantages:
   
   As advantage compared to the independent version, once your ETS is unlocked you do not need anything else extra to use it. Once it is unlocked you use it without needing extra equipment like the dongle of the independent version.
   
   As disadvantage, if you have to reformat your hard disk, change your PC because it is damaged, etc, you will need to start another request for a new license. Moreover the number of times you can ask a new license is limited per year. Therefore that means time you may lose and some procedure which can be annoying especially if that happens during a weekend or holiday period.
   
   
4. Host-ID change:
   
   As explained above, a change of PC or simply reformatting your hard disk can change the Host-ID. Therefore you will need a new key to unlock your ETS. This host-ID change can be done free of charge to a maximum of 2 times a year per License.  For each extra replacement after the second one, you will be charged half the price of the paid license.

ETS 3 PC Independent (dongle)

1. Background:
   
   This version uses - instead of a PC specific identification number - a license key, which is combined with a dongle. 
   
   
2. Result:
   
   The license file you will receive from us to unlock your ETS will be linked to the dongle and not to your PC. Therefore, to license your ETS, you will only need to plug in the dongle in a USB port, and start the licensing procedure with the license file you have received from us. This procedure will only need to be made once. Later, to use ETS you will only need to plug-in again the dongle and start ETS. If you intend to use your dongle on several PCs you will need to repeat the licensing procedure on each of them.
   
   
3. Advantages and disadvantages:
   
   As advantage compared to the dependent version, the dongle allows you to use your ETS on several PCs. Of course, this is only possible on one PC at a time as you need to use the dongle to start ETS. Without using the dongle your ETS will be back in demo mode.
   
   Another advantage is that, if you experience a disk crash, a reinstallation of your PC or simply changing your PC, you will not need to ask us a new license. A simple reinstallation of ETS, the dongle and the license will be necessary and you can start to work right away even if the problem happens during a weekend or holiday period.
   
   As disadvantage, an independent package always needs the dongle to start ETS. That means that without it your ETS comes back to demo mode therefore you must always be sure that you have the dongle with you to use your ETS !
   
   
4. Host-ID change:
   
   If you ever lose your dongle your ETS will come back to demo mode. You can ask for a replacement dongle and license key which will be charged half the price of the paid license. So be careful to keep it in a safe place at all times.
