Training Centres - Joining
Procedure - Grades
This Certification, for which both vocational and private institutions can apply – is basically divided into three steps :
Step 1 :
Training centres having filled in the questionnaire but do not yet (fully) comply with the requirements for training centres merely have access to the training documentation. The “registered “ training centre may convey the KNX technology but are unable to issue certificates that are accepted as a basis for partnership.
Step 2 :
Training centres that have provided sufficient proof of compliance to the minimum requirements are classified as "authorized". The minimum requirements relate to :
- media equipment
- training equipment:
devices and components shall be available to realize the following functions :- Switching
- Dimming
- Shutter Control
- Coupling of two TP1 lines
- for tutor aptitude :
at least one (internal or external) tutor shall be in the possession of a tutor certificate. In the case where the candidate tutor has the possibility to attend a tutor seminar in Germany, he shall register for the next scheduled tutor course.
In the case where he/she does not have the possibility to attend the tutor seminar in Germany, he/she shall purchase a copy of the tutor documentation (99 € per candidate – contact Ufuk.Unal(at)konnex.org) for self-study. Prior to the inspection, the tutor has the possibility to take part in an (optional) additional two-day crash course before he/she sits the theoretical and practical exam.
An authorized training centre may organize two courses concluded with a certificate.
Step 3 :
A KNX inspection is carried out at the training centre’s premises to check the requirements. Compliance to ISO 9001 is recommended. If positive, a certificate is granted to the training centre.
What are the costs ?
- € 1.200 for the registration
- € 112,5 per man hour/per auditor for the inspection (or crash course)
- € 500 yearly for the continuous update of the training documentation.
