Holistic secure operation

KNX Secure is an innovative solution for ensuring security and data protection in buildings. It is important that every control point, every actuator and every sensor in the building supports KNX Secure so that there are no weak points in the network. JUNG offers secure push-buttons and room controllers.

JUNG offers control units with KNX Secure for the operation of functions in buildings: The KNX F 10 push-buttons, which look like conventional light switches, the KNX RF push-buttons, which enable wireless networking, and the new KNX F 40 and F 50 push-buttons in the universal version. They can be updated via the ETS Service app and are therefore absolutely future-proof. In addition to new firmware with functional enhancements, there is also a redesigned application for the devices. System integrators will quickly find their way around the application. The push-buttons in the universal version with secure encryption are available down the line. JUNG is also presenting new KNX room controllers with KNX Secure. The F 40 and F 50 universal versions now also support the secure transmission standard.

Secure protection

Regardless of the medium, KNX IP Secure encrypts and authenticates all telegrams at the network level. The transmitted data is completely secure. This means that the communication between sensor and actuator in the IP network cannot be interpreted or manipulated. KNX IP Secure is the first manufacturer-independent security solution that is recognised as an international security standard in accordance with the EN ISO 22510 standard. KNX Data Secure additionally encrypts the data on the bus line (twisted pair) or via wireless communication (RF). KNX Secure prevents attack scenarios such as telegram recordings (recording), telegram repetitions (replay attack) or modifications (man-in-the-middle attack).

Put KNX Secure into operation: Secure, fast and easy thanks to innovative apps

To make a KNX installation secure, specialist installers and system integrators need the device certificates for the individual KNX Secure components. They must be integrated into the ETS and are therefore printed directly on the JUNG devices as a QR code. The time-consuming and error-prone typing of the device certificates is no longer necessary with the JUNG Secure apps.

JUNG KNX Secure Scanner

With the new smartphone app, JUNG closes the trade interface between installer, distribution installer and system integrator: Installers simply scan the QR codes and the secure keys appear in the app as a list view. With JUNG KNX Secure Scanner, they can create a protected certificate list or forward the secure keys in a password-protected PDF. JUNG KNX Secure Scanner is available free of charge in the app stores.

The exported certificate list can be easily transferred to the ETS with the JUNG KNX Secure Key Loader ETS app and thus integrated into the project. Several certificate lists can be merged in the project so that, for example, the project design can be implemented in parallel with the progress of the project. This extension is available via the KNX Association App Shop (my.knx.org) and is bound to the ETS dongle. It is installed via the app menu in the ETS main menu.

JUNG KNX Service App

KNX devices can be serviced easily with the new JUNG KNX Service App. The extension makes it possible to import new firmware into the components - for example, to activate KNX Data Secure in a JUNG line coupler. In addition, older firmware versions can be transferred to existing devices (e.g. when a device is replaced). The programming interface of the ETS is used for firmware programming processes and all KNX media are supported: Twisted Pair, IP and RF.
