| 17-05-2013 | KNX is now the only National Chinese Standard for Home and Building Control (GB/T 20965) | According to the official file issued by Standardization Administration of the People Republic of China, the National Standard of “The Technical Specification of HBES Control Network – Home and Building Control System” has been approved and distributed officially. The number of the standard is GB/T 20965-2013. In order to promote this historic moment, the secretariat of China TC of Industrial Process Measurement and Control organized a press conference at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the P. | 22-02-2013 | New press Release: TÜV Rheinland and KNX Association sign Partnership Agreement | TÜV Rheinland signed a partnership with the KNX Association and will now offer product testing according to the KNX standard in Asia, Europe and North America. Within the cooperation, TÜV Rheinland intends to support the recognition and the internationalization process of the KNX technology with its global network. TÜV Rheinland is also going to host the first KNX Forum Japan in its premises in Yokohama which is going to take place in Yokohama, Japan, on February, 26th 2013. | 18-01-2013 | New ETS App now available: ELplan | The app ELplan extends the ETS with a floor plan view. After pre-selection of the desired KNX devices can lamps, sockets, blinds, switch sensors, heating circuits, programmable thermostats, window contacts and radiator actuators simply be placed in the floor plan. The ELplan app automatically generates the necessary group addresses with meaningful names, such as „1floor_dining room_ ceiling lamp“. This group addresses are also automatically assigned appropriate actuators. Even the rockers of the buttons can be programmed in the graphical user interface with a mouse click. A complete, well-structured and documented ETS project during the graphical input occurs simultaneously with the installation plan, distribution plan and bill of materials. | 11-01-2013 | New ETS App now available: Fill Visualization Dummy | For full system visualisation, telegrams shall be allowed to pass the line coupler. To this end, a dummy device is inserted in the ETS project. It contains all the group addresses required by the visualisation system. The ETS takes the group addresses from the dummy device into account when creating the filter tables. Fill VisualizationDummy helps you to link a dummy device in the ETS with a list of group addresses for a visualization. Product data for dummy devices can be obtained from several manufacturers. The information about the group addresses can be read either from a file (different formats are supported), or the group addresses can be selected from the current ETS4 project by drag and drop. | 23-11-2012 | KNX Working Group Training meets at Hager Blieskastel | Last Friday, delegates from the KNX training centers and delegates from local manufacturers met up at the Hager premises in Blieskastel, to discuss about:A proposed update of the KNX requirements for training centers, a.o. including now explicit requirements for KNX theoretical online training; An update of the training documentation, both of the basic course but also of the upgrade course.As for the update of the topics of the upgrade course, new chapters have been developed on the topics of ‘KNX and Smart Metering/Smart Grid’ as well as ‘KNX and Multimedia’ and the program of the upgrade course adapted accordingly. Following the launch of the ETS 4 App concept, the content as well as the title of the chapter ‘Supplementary Tools’ was changed to ‘ETS Apps’. Also the chapter ‘Visualization’ was revised. As result, the following positions were voted: the president represented by Mr Tarek Zakaria (from ABB), the vice-presidents represented by Jean Baptiste Plagne (Schneider Electric) and Suhel Rashid (Siemens) and the secretary Taj Kollara from the system integrator company Total Autmation Co. LLC. Besides, KNX International and all KNX manufacturers in that region organized the 1st KNX Forum where they promoted the newest KNX National Group. As result, the following positions were voted: the president represented by Mr Aycan Gök (from Schneider Electric), the vice-presidents represented by Mr. Can Murat Gül (Siemens) Murat Aydin (Videocom) and the secretary Mr. Melih Pekiner from the system integrator company Dimel. Last week, next to the new National Group South Africa, the new national group KNX Argentina was officially founded! In total, 22 companies, 1 Association & 1 university joined the National Group and participated at the meeting. The following Executive Board was elected: President: José Daniel Gómez – Jung, Vice-President: Pablo Thierry – Merten, Secretaries: Mateo Ramos, Agustín Abdala (both from CTF Training Centre).
