KNX manufacturers need the Manufacturer Tool in order to create ETS Product Databases, these databases need to be imported in ETS in order in order to program devices.

Details

• In order to sell devices, it's necessary to create ETS Product Databases for these devices. Product Databases can e.g. be made available as download on web pages. Customers need to(after download or directly from CD-ROM) import these Product Databases into ETS, only after this installers have the possibility to program the devices.
• A 'Product Database' is also called 'Catalog'
• I.e. ETS Product Databases contain the necessary information, needed by ETS (software) in order to program devices (= your products) properly.
• The ETS Catalog Toolbox is the only way to create ETS Product Databases.
• The 'ETS Catalog Toolbox' is also called 'Manufacter Tool'.
