• Purchase copy of KNX specifications at KNX Association
  • € 1.000 – without update service
    above amount deductible from first membership fees when manufacturer applies for membership within 6 months
• Purchase copy of EN 50090 standard at national standardisation body

Membership in KNX Association

1. As Licensee - Royalty based license fee

   ( License duration is 5 years (renewable) )
   1. Companies with general turnover less than 10 million Euros or cable manufacturer
      1. Total license sum: € 6250 on basis of 0.5% of KNX sales figures
      2. Make advance payment of 1/3 of i) when buying license
      3. Only when 0.5% of KNX sales figures exceed advance payment, make next 1/3 instalment
      4. After payment of total license sum: reduction of royalty percentage to 0.25%
   2. Companies with general turnover more than 10 million Euros
      1. Same as 3b but total license sum: € 18750 on basis of 1% of KNX sales figures
      2. After payment of total license sum: reduction of royalty percentage to 0.5%

2. As Licensee – Annual flat license fee

   (for further information see KNX Internal Rules – Fees)
   
   Advantage of licenseeship: no need to acquire shares
   

3. As Shareholder

   ( Value of one share: approximately 1.500 Euros – share is refunded (depending on association result in resignation year) when shareholder resigns from association )
   1. Companies with more than 100 staff members
      1. Purchase 10 shares
      2. Pay € 12500 as annual fee
   2. Companies with less than 100 staff members
      1. Purchase 1 share
      2. Depending on amount of staff members, pay annual fee
         1. 26 to £ 100: € 6250
         2. 11 to £ 25: € 3750
         3. less or equal 10: € 2500
   Advantage of shareholdership: taking part in decision process (evolution of KNX standard – budget approval)

How to..

If your company wishes to join the KNX Association please fill in and sign the application form or membership and forward it to our secretariat by fax (+32 2 675 50 28). Send a copy of this form also by normal mail to our address.

 

Please remember to clearly indicate the type of membership you wish to apply for and the number of staff members of your company worldwide. This application will then be forwarded to the members of the KNX Executive Board (KEB) for approval.

 

After approval, members shall enter into the following contracts with the Association :

• IPR License Agreement.
• Trademark License Agreement.
